If you are in the London area and are still waiting for Christmas gift inspiration to strike, pop along to the Royal College of Art’s first Christmas Fete, 6 to 9 December, 12 pm to 7pm (till 5pm at weekends),
Kensington Gore
, London SW7 2EU.

Run by students and graduates of the RCA, it’s the perfect place to pick up something unique – a piece of original artwork perhaps, or designer ceramics, jewellery, textiles and home accessories.

Shown here is Jack Smith’s brilliant birdhouse, £25, which comes flat-packed, making it a perfectly postable gift, and gift ideas start at a very affordable £2.

There will be a pop up café on site serving hot drinks and sweet treats to refresh and revive, and visitors can also take in the College’s 175th anniversary exhibition, The Perfect Place to Grow, which is showing at the nearby Kensington Galleries.
